No fewer than three members of the first-team setup at La Liga giants Real Madrid have this week been named amongst the top-10 candidates to lift the next Ballon d’Or.

This comes amid updated power rankings on the part of the reliable Goal.

Real, of course, are in the midst of a memorable couple of weeks, which have seen them both clinch the La Liga title, and move to within a solitary game of yet another Champions League final.

A whole host of Blancos stars have shone bright across this stretch, from Andriy Lunin between the posts, to Ferland Mendy at the back, and Federico Valverde in midfield.

As per the aforementioned Goal, though, it is three others who find themselves amongst the 10 highest-ranked players in the race to be named world football’s very best player.

Top of the pile comes Jude Bellingham, who remains on course to lift his first Ballon d’Or.

Climbing all the way up to 4th, meanwhile, is Real Madrid partner-in-crime Vinícius Jr, with Toni Kroos also trending in the right direction, into 9th.

Not only that, but sitting just outside the top-10, in 11th and 12th respectively, are two more members of Carlo Ancelotti’s ranks, in Rodrygo, and Antonio Rüdiger.
