Myles Lewis-Skelly was one of the young talents that enjoyed a breakthrough season with Arsenal.

The 18-year-old left-back’s explosion has caught the attention of Real Madrid, more so considering that his contract with the Premier League giants stands to expire in 2026.

The Spanish capital giants are always alert to exciting young players and Lewis-Skelly’s contract situation made him an even more attractive target.

However, in a blow to Real Madrid’s plans, Myles Lewis-Skelly has agreed to sign a new long-term contract with Arsenal, reports Fabrizio Romano.

Despite the interest from the Merengues, the 18-year-old Englishman has only wanted to continue with Arsenal at all times and negotiations over an extension had been advancing for a few months now.

An agreement has now been reached and Lewis-Skelly will sign it and stay put at the Emirates Stadium for the near future.

Having made his debut for Arsenal in September 2024, Lewis-Skelly, who can also play in midfield, went on to make 39 first-team appearances across all competitions, scoring one and assisting two goals.

The teenager, who already has three caps for the England national team, started in both of Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final clashes against Real Madrid, even registering an assist in the 3-0 home win in the first leg.

It might have played a part in the Merengues taking an interest in Lewis-Skelly, but the door for a move appears closed, at least for now, with the youngster agreeing a new long-term deal with Arsenal.
