An insight into the complex agreement struck between La Liga giants Real Madrid and their counterparts at Napoli over the transfer of Rafa Marín has today been forthcoming online.

The name of defender Marín has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines across Spain and Italy alike over the last 24 hours.

As much comes after confirmation was forthcoming that, following weeks of negotiations, a deal to send the 22-year-old to Napoli had at last been found.

So, just what does the agreement at hand entail?

As alluded to above, an insight into as much has on Thursday been provided, by the reliable Mario Cortegana of The Athletic.

Napoli’s initial outlay to land Marín will be in the region of €11 million.

In 12 months’ time, however, the Partenopei will have the option to fork over a further €10 million to Real Madrid.

In the case of as much being paid, the Spanish champions would see their buyback option on the stopper removed from his contract in Naples.

On the other hand, should Napoli opt against activating this clause, Real will maintain the option to bring Marín back for €25 million in either 2025 or 2026, or €35 million in 2027.
