Real Madrid are prepared to break the world transfer record in order to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham.

Los Blancos are willing to spend €227m to get the record-breaking England international, and make him the most expensive player in the history of the game.

Kane has, once again, been on fire this season – finding the back of the 29 times in all competitions for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

According to the Sunday Times, the Spanish giants consider the 24-year-old to be the best forward in world football, and are desperate to make a Galático-esque signing.

Spurs’ wage structure has been well-documented, with Kane on a relatively modest €114,000 per week – for some context, that’s less than Ross Barkley earns at Chelsea.

The Santiago Bernabéu side would be willing double that in order to persuade the striker to come to La Liga.

Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski has also been heavily linked with a switch to Madrid, but whatever happens, it looks as if the fabled BBC of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo will be broken up come the summer.
