Rabat was rocking as Los Blancos came to town looking for the win that would take them into yet another final.

Al-Hilal were waiting for the victors here after their dramatic win over Brazilian giants Flamengo on Tuesday.

Without Karim Benzema to spearhead the attack, the Spanish giants were struggling in the final third with Rodrygo and Vinicius Jnr running down blind alleys.

It was Vinicius who had the first real chance of the game on the half hour mark but his one-on-one effort went wide of the post.

It wasn’t going all Madrid’s way however as up the other end Andriy Lunin produced a brilliant reaction save at his hear post to keep the deadlock intact.

On the stroke of half time however, Real Madrid did take the lead as Vinicius capitalised on a defensive error and finished well.

Into the second half and the Liga side doubled their lead almost immediately as Fede Valverde tapped in.

The Egyptian side got themselves back into the game midway through the second half as Ali Maaloul slotted home a penalty.

The north African outfit were really pushing for that equaliser now and once again forced Lunin into a smart stop at his near post.

Real Madrid held out though and despite missing a penalty late on through Luka Modrić scored in injury time thanks to Rodrygo and Sergio Arribas and progressed to the final.
