Eduardo Camavinga opens up on why he snubbed Manchester United and moved to Real Madrid

According to Manchester Evening News, French wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga has opened up on subbing Manchester United and moving to Real Madrid earlier this summer.

The 18-year-old is one of Europe’s top talents and was a person in demand this summer. With his contract at Rennes winding down, he was linked with a number of clubs including United.

Spanish giants Real Madrid, however, won the race for his signature. The player, for his part, has now opened up since being unveiled at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“Honestly, the first factor is not money, it is the pleasure of fulfilling a dream I had since I was little.”

According to the report, Camavinga has described his move to Real as a dream come true. It goes on to add that he did not think about joining United.

“When I found out that I could sign for Madrid, I didn’t think about it.”

The Red Devils made efforts to land the player and even reached out to his representatives. They were, however, rebuffed as the player’s heart was set on a move to Spain. Money does not appear to be a factor in Camavinga’s decision.

Camavinga is already a full international for France.

The Red Devils still need to bring in a central midfielder and it is on the agenda ahead of next summer. West Ham United star Declan Rice is now taking centre-stage as a major target.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is slowly but surely putting together a team that is capable of competing on all fronts. Who else will be brought in as part of the Red Revolution remains to be seen.

This is not the first time that United have missed out on a player and it won’t be the last time either. We, however, have little time to dawdle on it and will move on to bigger and better things.
