Former Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, on Thursday, hinted that his playing days at the top level of European football may not have come to a close just yet…
This comes after the Portuguese was a special guest at the draw for the UEFA Champions League.
With a view to the competition’s revamped format being put into practice, Ronaldo was invited to attend the ceremony, which took place in Monaco a short time ago.
The prolific frontman saw his historic achievements in the Champions League recognised, too, handed a well-earned trophy for establishing himself as the highest-ever scorer in the tournament.
As alluded to above, however, this did not mark the only noteworthy talking point when it came to Ronaldo’s latest public appearance on Thuesday.
In fact, another, in the form of a comment on the part of the 39-year-old, has since garnered perhaps even more attention…
Whilst on stage in front of a packed crowd in Monte Carlo, Ronaldo – currently plying his club trade in Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr – hinted that he could yet go on to appear in the Champions League once again before his playing days are up:
“You never know, I might play in the Champions League again.”
