Manchester City are targeting a summer move for Real Madrid first-team coach Antonio Pintus, with Etihad officials having already made a contract offer to the Italian.

Pep Guardiola could be set for further changes to his backroom staff at the end of the current campaign, having seen the departure of pair Enzo Maresca and Rodolfo Borrell from the Etihad Stadium last summer.

Maresca departed Manchester City’s first-team coaching staff to become Leicester City manager, with the 44-year-old having successfully guided the Foxes back to the top-flight after achieving Premier League promotion during his first season.

Borrell meanwhile moved to MLS side Austin FC to become the club’s sporting director, with the departure of the duo leading to the arrivals of Juanma Lillo and Inigo Dominguez at the City Football Academy last August.

Guardiola and his staff are bidding to win a sixth Premier League title in seven years this weekend, with Manchester City requiring a win over West Ham United to secure a record-breaking fourth consecutive title.

The Sky Blues are hoping to win two further trophies in their final two fixtures of the season, with an Emirates FA Cup Final against Manchester United to follow Sunday’s Premier League finale against the Hammers.

Manchester City could be set further changes to their first-team coaching staff following the last two matches of the 2023/24 season however, with the Cityzens having made an attempt to sign Real Madrid coach Antonio Pintus.

The 61-year-old is a key member of Carlo Ancelotti’s staff, with the Italian holding the role of head of fitness at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Outlet Get Spanish Football News relay claims from newspaper Libertad Digital, who report that Manchester City have made an ‘irrefutable’ offer to Pintus, with executive Ferran Soriano putting ‘all his effort’ into bringing the coach to east Manchester next season.

Manchester City’s swoop is of concern to the La Liga heavyweights, with the fitness coach considered as one of the best in the industry globally.

It is unknown what an approach for the 61-year-old means for the future of current Manchester City fitness coach Lorenzo Buenaventura, who has been at the Etihad Stadium since 2019.
