In a recent tweet, journalist Sergio Santos stated that Real Madrid are hoping to terminate Toni Fuidias’ contract. It is understood that Los Blancos are ready to move the Spanish keeper on and are willing to let him sign for the club of his choosing this month.

Fuidias’ Recent Rise In Spanish Football

Fuidias came through the youth ranks of Real Madrid and managed to establish himself as a key member of the club’s Castilla team recently. The 21-year-old is yet to make a senior appearance for the Madrid club but has already made 39 appearances for them, conceding 53 goals and earning eight clean sheets across all competitions.

The Berga-born talent has shown flashes of what he is capable of during his stay in the Spanish capital. However, he is nowhere near experienced enough to compete with Thibaut Courtois for a first-team spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

On his day, Fuidias can be a safe pair of hands in between the sticks but it makes sense for the youngster to move on in search of greener pastures this month.

Fuidias has got decent reflexes under his belt and can make a few solid saves at the back. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are chasing him and can pass the ball well from the back.

The Spanish talent will only get better with each season. However, his career at Real Madrid has come to a standstill. Thus, it makes sense for both Fuidias and the Madrid club to part ways with each other this month.

At the moment, Fuidias has not got any chance to feature in Carlo Ancelotti‘s match-day squad. Thus, it is only logical for the youngster to seek a move elsewhere where he will have a better shot of earning regular playing time in the future.

All in all, it will be a good move for both the player and the Madrid club if Los Blancos lets him leave as a free agent by terminating his contract this month. However, it’s a shame that Fuidias is being forced to leave after he worked hard so hard to make his way up the youth ranks of the Spanish outfit over the past few years. Still, Real Madrid would be better off moving him on as his career is going nowhere at the Bernabeu.
