Real Madrid heavyweight tipped to leave next summer

Much has been made of the “BMV” link-up in recent weeks, with the new star-studded trio of Real Madrid seen as being Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior. Rodrygo Goes has been exempt from this, although he has staked his claim to turn to acronym into “BMVR”.

Rodrygo appears to be focused on less than the aforementioned trio, and this is not to the liking of his entourage. According to Ruben Uria (via Sport), they are keeping an open channel to interested club – one being Manchester City – as there is an element of expectation that the 23-year-old will end up leaving Real Madrid next summer.

“Rodrygo doesn’t have the desire to leave Madrid, but the people around Rodrygo do (want him to go). And those people have to leave a door open because they know that it is a difficult year in sports. Next year, he leaves Real Madrid.

“Call him what you want, but Rodrygo next year is not at Real Madrid. For him, recognition is important, and it is a blow to be omitted from the “BMV”.”

Rodrygo is obviously a fantastic player, but there is an argument to suggest that he shouldn’t be untouchable at Real Madrid because of the type of attacker he is – especially when compared to Mbappe and Vinicius. A lucrative sale in 2025 could benefit all parties, and allow for the progression of Arda Guler.
