Real Madrid have reportedly decided to keep James Rodríguez at the club this season.
James spent the last two seasons at Bayern Munich, who opted not to make his loan move permanent for €42m.
And despite strong speculation linking him with Atlético Madrid, El Chiringuito report that Madrid officials want the Colombian to stay.
Marco Asensio has been ruled out for the season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament, which opened up the door for James’ reintegration.
It remains unclear whether Zinedine Zidane has any intention of using the midfielder – who he famously fell out with during his first spell in charge.
Los Blancos are also continuing their pursuit for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
