Real Madrid have made a solid start to the 2025/26 La Liga season under Xabi Alonso despite some missteps.

Two wins in two games with four goals scored and none conceded, while not being able to count on four first-team stars makes for an impressive beginning to the campaign.

Jude Bellingham has been the biggest and most notable absence for Real Madrid and his return is still some way away.

But the other injured stars – Endrick, Ferland Mendy, and Eduardo Camavinga, are edging closer to making a comeback.

Endrick, Mendy begin training on the pitch

Earlier today, Endrick and Mendy started working on the pitch, suggesting that their comeback might not be much far away.

Indeed, Real Madrid’s official media channel showed images of both players training at Valdebebas, combining physical work and ball exercises. The club also shared an image of the pair on their official social media account.

This is very positive news for Xabi Alonso, who could have two key players back after the international break, ahead of the match against Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena.

Both Endrick and Mendy have been out of action since the last season and have not played any minute under new manager Alonso.

While Endrick, out of action since May, was tipped to return during the FIFA Club World Cup, a minor relapse meant he was sidelined for an extended period. But he is now expected to be back after the international break.

As for Mendy, he has not played since late April, having suffered an injury soon after returning from a previous issue, due to which he had to undergo surgery.

There have been conflicting reports regarding the left-back’s return, with recent updates suggesting his comeback could be delayed until late September.

But there may be a possibility that he is back at Alonso’s disposal soon after the international break next month.
