Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane hailed their "character" after victory over Champions League opponents Inter Milan.

Inter had fought back to 2-2 before Rodrygo forced a winner for Real.

Zidane said, “The team has incredible character and personality. And they want to prove they can play well and do things well. What goes on off the pitch we all know happens all the time. When you ask me I respond and I'm going to give you the same answer. We're here to work as a team.

"We know we're going to find it hard to win throughout the season because there are no easy games. I don't see any other team winning every game comfortably, but we know that when we play as a team we're difficult to beat.

“You always have to have a balance between defence and attack. We faced a really good team. They've showed that. They're good on the counter-attack. Three weeks ago we were talking about how we couldn't score enough goals and now it's about us conceding. What we have to do is keep working hard because it's not easy to achieve both things -not conceding whilst scoring a lot of goals."
