Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Monday secured for himself an individual accolade.

The prize in question? La Liga Manager of the Month.

Italian tactician Ancelotti, for his part, is in the midst of overseeing arguably the most important month of his side’s season to date.

Over the course of five fixtures, two on the continent and three on the domestic front, Real’s boss guided his troops to four wins, and a draw.

In Europe, as much proved enough for Los Blancos to battle their way beyond Manchester City, to clinch a place in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

And, back in La Liga, three wins from three assured that the capital giants opened up an unassailable lead atop the table, all set to wrestle back the Spanish top-flight title from arch rivals Barcelona.

In turn, on Monday, it should not come as a major surprise to hear of Ancelotti’s stellar endeavours on the touchline being rewarded.
