Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are ready to join Inter Milan and Juventus in the race to sign Bologna defender Sam Beukema.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that the Spanish giants sent scouts to watch the 26-year-old in a recent Champions League match against Lille.
Beukema has been enjoying another outstanding season at the back for Bologna.
The Dutchman joined the Rossoblu from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2023.
And Beukema had a big role to play as the Emilian club reached a surprise Champions League qualification under Thiago Motta.
This season, Beukema has very much picked up where he left off. He has been a key man in defense for Bologna as they push for a second European qualification under Vincenzo Italiano.
Beukema’s form for Bologna has hardly escaped the noticed of Europe’s big clubs.
In Serie A, the 26-year-old is certainly on the radar of some of the top clubs in the division.
Inter see Beukema as being among the targets to bolster the defense after Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi are phased out.
Meanwhile, Juventus could aim to reunite Beukema with Thiago Motta after the pair worked successfully together last season at Bologna.
Then there is also interest in Beukema’s signature from the Premier League, reports Sky.
But alternatively, the Dutchman could be heading to the Spanish capital.
Sky reports that both Real and Atletico Madrid have been eyeing up a move for Beukema.
