In a recent tweet, journalist Graeme Bailey claimed that Real Madrid are eager to land Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite in the summer. It has been mentioned that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to secure the services of the English sensation later this year.

Branthwaite’s Good Run Of Form At Goodison Park This Season

Branthwaite is having a solid campaign at the Merseyside club after he put in a series of impressive displays at the centre of the Everton backline. The 21-year-old has been involved in 31 matches for the Toffees this season, finding the back of the net twice across all fronts.

The English centre-back has been a decent performer when defending inside his half as he is averaging 2.0 tackles, 1.6 interceptions and 4.2 clearances per game in the Premier League. He has even tidy with his ball distribution after making 79.4% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).

Branthwaite’s current contract at Goodison Park will expire in the summer of 2027 which could make it tough for Real Madrid to snap him up on the cheap at the end of this campaign.

What Will Branthwaite Add To Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti’s Side?

Branthwaite is a tough-tackling defender who can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing the danger when the opposition are on the offensive and can use his robust 1.95m frame to win his fair share of 50-50 duels in the air.

The English talent is even proficient at playing his way out from the back when he is playing with confidence on the pitch. He excels at playing in both centre-backs positions and is enjoying his foot at Everton right now.

We can expect Branthwaite to add more bite and steel to Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti’s defensive department. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the coming seasons.

Los Blancos to launch a move to bring him to the Spanish capital when the transfer window commences later this year.
