Three key members of Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis squad are set to be unavailable for selection for the club’s upcoming meeting with Athletic Club.

This comes owing to events in Betis’ La Liga meeting with Alavés on Sunday.

En route to an eventual 0-0 stalemate at the Estadio Benito Villamarín, five of the hosts’ stars were booked over the course of the 90 minutes.

And three such players, namely Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Juan Miranda, and Marc Roca, are now facing up to a one-game suspension as a result.

This comes with the Verdiblancos trio having accumulated five yellow cards over the course of the season.

Though they will be at the disposal of boss Pellegrini in midweek – when Betis face off with Dinamo Zagreb in the 2nd leg of the Europa Conference League tie between the clubs – none, as a result, will be eligible to feature in next Sunday’s league showdown with Athletic Club.
