Real Betis star on verge of move to Cesc Fàbregas’ Como | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Real Betis are closing on a deal to part with attacker Assane Diao this month.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has on Wednesday confirmed that the youngster is on the verge of a move to Italy with Como.

Winger Diao, for his part, has played something of a bit-part role for Real Betis across the season to date, racking up 19 appearances in all competitions, albeit only two of which came in the form of La Liga starts.

The Spanish youth international, though, has nevertheless managed to chip in with five goal contributions, a solid haul for a player of just 19 years of age.

And it is precisely these kinds of exploits which have this week convinced the aforementioned Como to go all out in their bid to bring in Diao.

As per a report from Fabrizio Romano:

‘Como are closing in on deal to sign Assane Diao from Real Betis! Clubs are finalizing details for package worth over €11m.’

Como head coach Cesc Fàbregas is said to have been ‘crucial’ in the transfer coming to fruition, having held several rounds of talks with the young attacker behind the scenes.
