Real Betis legend Joaquin Sanchez appointed to new position in club’s sporting department | OneFootball

Real Betis should be in store for a busy summer transfer window. They wrapped up a deal for Romain Perraud earlier this week, and he is expected to be the first of many players to come through the entrance door at the Benito Villamarin.

Sporting director Manu Fajardo will lead Betis’ efforts in the transfer market, although he will be assisted by a very familiar face: Joaquin Sanchez. The club legend has held an institutional role at Los Verdiblancos since retiring from playing at the end of the 2022-23 season, but as reported by ABC (via Relevo), he will now be involved in the sporting department.

Joaquin should be a valuable addition to Fajardo’s crew, and his love for Real Betis should help persuade new signings to join this summer. It will certainly be very interesting to see who is added to Manuel Pellegrini’s squad in the coming weeks – as well as seeing who departs.
