Interest in the services of Las Palmas star Alvaro Valles is beginning to mount ahead of the summer transfer window.

Valles, for his part, has emerged as one of the standout goalkeepers in La Liga across the season to date.

Guiding Las Palmas into the top half of the Spanish top-flight, the 26-year-old’s performances have long begun to pique the attentions of clubs in not only his home country, but across the whole of Europe.

With Valles having made clear that he has no intention of extending his contract – due to expire in the summer of 2025 – in Gran Canaria, the Amarillos brass have in turn been left with no choice but to prepare for a summer sale, so as not to lose such a valuable player for nothing.

And, on Saturday, an insight into the clubs leading the race to strike a deal for the shot-stopper has been provided.

The info comes courtesy of transfer insider Matteo Moretto, who, speaking as part of Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing, confirmed that Real Betis are the La Liga frontrunners for Valles.

Rival interest from the Premier League, though, means that the Spaniard landing in Heliópolis is far from a sure thing.

As much comes with Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, too, keen to bring Valles in to act as backup for no.1 Emi Martínez.
