The pair were set to meet at Meadow Park tomorrow but the game is no longer going ahead. The reason for the postponement has been left undisclosed but it is understood that the request was lodged with The Football Association by Reading.
The match is the second in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League to be postponed this weekend. A mix of positive COVID-19 cases and injuries in the Everton squad meant that their home fixture against Chelsea which was scheduled to take place on Sunday has been called off. Reading announced the news of their postponement via a post on their official club Twitter account.
Both Arsenal and Reading will be bitterly disappointed that this weekend’s fixture cannot go ahead. The Gunners miss the opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League table and bounce back from last weekend’s shock defeat at Birmingham City while Kelly Chambers’ Reading side have been flying since clicking in the last quarter of 2021.
A new date for the Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Arsenal and Reading will be agreed between the two clubs in due course.
