Blanca FĂ©lix was undoubtedly the hero of Monday nightâs second-leg final, saving Charlyn Corralâs penalty kick mid-way through the second half to ensure Chivas lifted the trophy at the end of the night.
Despite Lizbeth Ăngelesâ beautiful long-distance strike to give Pachuca a 1-0 win on the night, Chivas prevailed 4-3 on aggregate for their second title.
After the match, Amaury Vergara dedicated the trophy to his late father, Jorge, who passed in November 2019.
âI am very proud of the players, of the victory, of a lot of effort and dedication of the women, of the whole team.
âThis title goes to someone who is in heaven, who gave me the opportunity to be president of the club,â he said.
Next season will bring plenty of big changes to the league, with VAR being implemented for the Liguilla while the number of foreign players will increase from two to four players per team.
