Speaking at a press conference earlier today, RB Leipzig shot-stopper Peter Gulacsi has heaped praise on Real Madrid counterpart Andriy Lunin, calling the 25-year-old Ukrainian a ‘complete goalkeeper’.

RB Leipzig play hosts to Real Madrid tomorrow night in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie.

And Gulasci, who has only played a handful of matches this season after recovering from a serious injury, hailed Lunin for the job he had done stepping in for the injured Thibaut Courtois.

“I know what I’ve seen in the last few weeks, he was the number two and after Courtois’ injury Kepa came on and when he got injured, Lunin played,” Gulacsi remarked.

“He reacts well in one on one. He has his quality. As a goalkeeper he is a complete goalkeeper, you have to play him,” the 33-year-old added.

The Hungarian also commented on the absence of Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham for tomorrow’s clash due to an ankle injury, stating that Los Blancos have other dangerous players who can hurt them a great deal.

“We know about Madrid’s quality, their individual quality, Vinicius played a fantastic game this weekend, there is also Rodrygo, we can name them all.

“In midfield, they have a lot of quality. Even with the absence of Bellingham they have a strong attack, we mustn’t focus on just one player,” he remarked.

Reminiscing last season’s 3-2 win over Real Madrid in the UCL group stages, Gulasci said:

“The team was full of energy, with a lot of intensity. That’s what we need. We are missing people from last year, but we have new players and we want to take advantage of them. It’s a different game.”
