RB Leipzig make it impossible for Bayern Munich to sign Dani Olmo | OneFootball

According to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, RB Leipzig have made it impossible for Bayern Munich to sign Dani Olmo this summer.

It has previously been reported that Der Rekordmeister were looking into the possibility of luring the Spaniard to Bavaria. However, Olmo was only ever Bayern’s third-choice attacking signing, behind Xavi Simons and Désiré Doué.

Nevertheless, it appears as though the record champions have lost out to Leipzig in the race to sign Simons. As well as this, they are also currently embroiled in a bidding war with PSG for Stade Rennes’ Doué.

Therefore, it is understood that Bayern could look to steal Olmo away from Barcelona, who have recently agreed personal terms with the 26-year-old.

If this were to happen, then Leipzig would demand that Der Rekordmeister pay the €60 million that they value Olmo at upfront. This is because they are unwilling to sell the Spaniard to a direct league rival.

On the other hand, they are understanding of Barcelona’s financial limitations. This means that they are willing to accept an offer from the Blaugrana, which will see the fee paid in instalments.

This has made a deal for Bayern to sign Olmo almost impossible, as Vincent Kompany’s side are required to sell key players before they buy. Therefore, if Olmo is to leave Leipzig, then Barcelona are likely his only destination.
