RB Leipzig condemn racist abuse aimed at Openda | OneFootball

RB Leipzig have released a statement which condemns any racist abuse directed at star striker Lois Openda this week.

The post made on all relevant Roten Bullen social media accounts was published shortly after midday regarding comments directed at the striker which reads as follows:

“The racist insults and abuse towards Lois Openda disgust us and make us both angry and sad. We condemn racism and inhumane behaviour in the strongest possible terms.

“Lois has the full support of the club, and together we will fight against all forms of discrimination.

“RB Leipzig stands for diversity and openness, for human dignity and tolerance, for the fundamental values of society.

“For us it is unequivocally clear: Our teams are every colour, our stadium is every colour, our club is every colour”.

The Belgian international, who turns 25-years-old later this week, came off the bench in the 73rd-minute against St.Pauli last Sunday. On two occasions he failed to extend Leipzig’s healthy 2-0 lead at the time.
