Ralf Rangnick wants to sell Manchester United trio with too much influence this January

According to German outlet BILD (h/t Daily Mail Online), Ralf Rangnick is looking to sell a particular Manchester United trio this January as a result of having too much influence in the dressing room. Supposedly, they are “killing the mood” inside the squad, which prompted the boss to take this decision.

Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani are the players who have been named to create a player-power situation. They have been put on the transfer list and could be moved out before the January transfer window closes down. Pogba and Cavani have entered the final six months of their contract, which means this could be the only opportunity to cash in on them.

However, Man United are acting against Rangnick’s wishes since they believe that the central midfielder can be tied down to a new deal. Martial has conveyed that he wants to leave Old Trafford in the winter transfer window in search of more minutes. His situation, more or less, has created a mutual understanding among all the parties due to their respective stances.

Enough with this!

The reliability of the news is questionable for obvious reasons and the situation they are trying to create. The 63-year-old manager has publicly stated earlier this month that the Uruguayan will stay for the rest of the season. The interim boss even added how he counts on the striker and is important to the plans.

Naturally, we would want to believe the words of the Red Devils coach over the media outlet. There have been talks about players being unhappy and dressing room crises over the past two months. Fred alone has come out and denied two such cases where one accused of a divide and the other claimed of major scale unhappiness.

The midfielder was not alone as Marcus Rashford also reacted to similar news questioning their commitment to the club. As such, we have to be wary of such claims moving forward as it would only create unrest for no reason. And it is understandable that a certain amount of unpleasantness is expected around a club if the results aren’t going to plan on the pitch.

It is clear how there is a growing pattern surrounding similar news, so such pieces of information should be taken with a pinch of salt. Cavani in particular has given it his all when on the pitch and Pogba continues to be an important cog in the machine when he is available for selection.

Martial, on the other hand, may well want to leave to play more. With the FIFA World Cup not far away and the player already 26 years old, his situation is understandable. All clubs go through such situations every now and then.

He did have a pretty public tiff with Rangnick when he was accused of not wanting to play for the club against Aston Villa. But the German coach has revealed how the “clash” they had was resolved. It remains to be seen what role, if any, they play against West Ham United tonight. What matters to the fans is the results on the pitch, be it the transfer window or not.
