Second in the Scottish Premiership behind rivals Celtic Glasgow, Glasgow Rangers had a frustrating season. Nevertheless, the Gers had a few standout performers—among them the Moroccan striker Hamza Igamane. Signed in summer 2024 for just under €2.5 million from AS FAR Rabat, the 22‑year‑old from Témara stamped his mark: initially behind Nigerian Cyriel Dessers, he overtook him in the second half of the season.

By season’s end he had scored 16 goals and provided 3 assists in 46 games for Rangers. His victims included Tottenham Hotspur—Europa League winners—plus he scored a brace and provided an assist against OGC Nice, a top-tier French club.

As a Moroccan U23 international, Igamane represented his country at the 2023 U23 AFCON and featured in the 2024 Olympics. With his performances, several clubs in Ligue 1 have been paying close attention.

According to our sources, Strasbourg has been particularly vigilant, contacting Rangers in recent weeks. They view him as a striker who can level up—especially if they qualify for Europe. Lille and Reims have also gathered information, while Lens had shown interest earlier, although their sporting director’s departure cooled that.

But French clubs aren’t the only ones. English Premier League sides, notably Everton, are also considering him a serious target.

Under contract at Rangers until 2029, the club isn’t under pressure to sell, but they might consider offers around £15–20 million.

It appears Rangers may have a battle to keep Hamza…
