Norwich City are growing in confidence that they will sign Rangers-linked central defender Harry Darling, according to journalist Chris Reeve.
The Gers have had major changes in their hierarchy after they struggled to challenge Celtic in recent years.
The new ownership of the club have appointed Russell Martin as the new boss, after considering multiple options.
After so many big changes at the club, they are moving to get transfer business done and Darling, who is leaving Swansea City, has been widely linked.
Robin Propper could head for the Ibrox exit door and Rangers are looking to back Martin with fresh faces.
Rangers were keen on Cameron Burgess, who ended up at Swansea City, and Darling, who is leaving the Swans, will also not be going to Ibrox.
It has been suggested that the 25-year-old defender is set to join Championship outfit Norwich City under their new boss Liam Manning.
The Canaries have Manning as their new boss and Darling has decided that he wants to join them instead.
Martin’s arrival at Rangers ignited the Gers’ interest in the Cambridge-born defender, but Darling is not up for a reunion with his former boss.
It is suggested that Norwich have done ‘really well’ to get themselves ahead of the competition for Darling.
Now it remains to be seen where the Glasgow giants will set their eyes on after they look set to miss out on the former Swansea man.
They are looking at another attacker from England in the shape of Kwame Poku, who could end up signing for a club outside England.
