Rangers’ injury crisis deepens with 13 out for Dundee

Rangers manager Philippe Clement has dropped a staggering confirmation of Ibrox Noise’s numbers and revealed 11 players will not be available for Rangers’ hosting of Dundee tomorrow, with injury numbers which clearly have not in any way benefited from the manager’s supposed ‘resolution’.

The manager announced the ridiculous confirmation that: John Souttar, Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun, Dujon Sterling, John Lundstram, Tom Lawrence, Oscar Cortes, Rabbi Matondo, Abdallah Sima, Danilo and youngster Bailey Rice will not be available, while we’re pretty sure he completely forgot that Ryan Jack and Alex Lowry also aren’t ready either.

This means, in reality, 13 players, AKA practically half the entire squad, is currently out injured or suspended, in what we can only describe as a complete crisis at Rangers and a bit of a meltdown.

Ultimately, the season is done, Rangers’ injuries, rather than Philippe Clement’s bravado about fixing them, are actually getting worse as the campaign whimpers to its feeble conclusion from a Rangers perspective, and this means Ben Davies is the only senior central defender available, meaning Leon King will have to be drafted in.

It’s very much the same nightmare that Giovanni van Bronckhorst suffered, with his having to face the Champions League back in the Rangers day with just James Sands, Ben Davies and Leon King at the back.

We’re right back there again, but without Sands, so, somehow, our rearguard is now going to be weaker than Giovanni’s absolutely desperate defence.

The situation at Ibrox these days has absolutely derailed, horribly – two months ago Rangers led by two points and were going for the treble with a most-fit squad, give or take. Now half the squad have caved in, the results have plummeted, the league is gone, and we really don’t curry much hope in winning the cup this month either.

It’s truly horrendous, and it’s only getting worse.
