Rangers fans slam owners as 49ers get a thumbs down

The Rangers support has delivered its verdict on the new owners and the result is damning. An Ibrox Noise poll on Facebook asked fans how the regime had done in the first few months. The options were simple. Doing a good job, cannot judge, or making an arse of it. The outcome was brutal. 64% said the owners are making an arse of it. 33% said they cannot judge. Only 3% said they are doing a good job. That is not a mandate. It is a hammering. Rangers fans not impressed with new owners.

Vote

When supporters respond with such numbers it tells a story. The trust simply does not exist. Fans have seen a summer of disorganisation and confusion. Transfers have been slow. Decisions have been unclear. Leadership has not inspired. Therefore the Ibrox Noise poll highlights exactly where the fanbase stands right now. And it is not in the corner of those running the club.

This poll cannot be dismissed as a vocal minority. Instead the results are overwhelming. Two thirds of fans feel the owners have failed so far. Consequently that is a massive problem for a club that relies on supporter faith. Rangers cannot thrive if the stands are filled with doubt. Worse still, that doubt is growing every single week, as seen in this Guardian analysis of the regime’s early decisions.

The reality is stark. When only 3% think the owners are doing a good job then the regime faces a crisis. Football supporters do not hand out trust for free. They want action and they want clarity. However right now they are not seeing either. With the numbers this severe you have to listen, something that Ibrox Noise have underlined many times.

Early days

The defence of these owners will say it is early. They will claim time is needed. Yet Rangers fans are not buying that argument. After all they remember the promises. They recall the words about change and progress. None of that has been visible. Instead the same old mistakes are repeating. As a result this poll is the proof of that.

What happens next matters. The owners need to take stock and act. Furthermore they need to communicate properly. They need to back the manager with the right players. They need to stop dithering. Because Rangers cannot afford more chaos. Supporters demand more and they deserve more. Rangers fans not impressed with new owners.

Ibrox Noise believes this poll is a snapshot of the truth. The new regime has not impressed. Fans have spoken with clarity. And unless the leadership changes course then the mood inside Ibrox will only worsen. This is not about patience. Rather it is about results. It is about Rangers. And right now the club’s supporters believe the owners are making an arse of it.
