An Ibrox Noise poll has revealed that around 75% (subject to fluctuation) of Rangers fans believe Russell Martin is the wrong man for the job. Therefore the poll leaves little room for doubt. Supporters are speaking with a clear voice and they are not backing the current manager. In fact only 7% of fans asked believe he is the right man. Meanwhile around 20% remain unsure which shows how fragile his position looks as Rangers fans vote against Russell Martin.

Board

As a result the findings should concern the board. When three quarters of supporters reject the manager the warning lights flash bright. Moreover the Ibrox Noise poll does not stand alone. Fans have voiced doubts for weeks and the poll simply provides the numbers to prove it. Consequently the gulf between the manager and the supporters looks vast.

Furthermore Martin’s comments and decisions have already raised alarm bells. His public hints about possible departures did not reassure anyone. Instead of calming the situation he created even more uncertainty. Hence the poll reflects the lack of trust many fans now feel. Supporters want clarity and strength but they believe they are getting weakness and excuses. Rangers fans vote against Russell Martin!

In addition doubts grew when he spoke about key players like Max Aarons. His comments sounded more like speculation than leadership. Consequently the poll shows how supporters reacted. They saw the words as proof he lacked authority and direction. Confidence has drained and fans now question the entire project.

Signings

Moreover Martin has tried to highlight ambition and new signings. He even spoke of interest in Premier League forwards. However the poll tells a very different story. Fans do not see a bold new plan. Instead they see scattergun talk that hides the cracks beneath. Supporters are tired of promises and they want results. Therefore the poll shows they do not believe Martin can deliver them.

Consequently the board will feel the pressure. It is one thing for fans to grumble online. Yet it is another when a poll lays out the numbers so clearly. Three quarters of supporters rejecting the manager cannot be ignored. If the board ignore it they risk open revolt when results turn sour.

Ultimately the poll does not mean Martin is finished. However it shows the size of the task he faces. He must win fans over quickly or his time at Ibrox will collapse in failure. Rangers supporters demand strength and success. The poll shows they see neither. In conclusion the numbers speak louder than words and they scream for change.
