Rangers looked to get rolling once again with an Ibrox showdown with Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership.
Here is what went down in Glasgow.
Scorers: Goldson 6â˛, Sakala 25â˛, Tavernier 45Ⲡ; Dorsett 60â˛
Rangers cruised to a comfortable home win over Kilmarnock, extending their unbeaten streak in the league to 14 consecutive games.
After disappointment in the Scottish League Cup final last time out, Rangers looked keen to get back on track from the first whistle.
They were rewarded with an early lead when Connor Goldson tapped home Rangersâ opener from point-blank range after a flurry of heroic saves from Sam Walker.
The Ibrox crowd was brought to its feet once again before the half-hour mark, as Fashion Sakala sent his effort into the roof of the net after a scramble in the box to double the home sideâs advantage.
The game was all but put to bed with the last kick of the first half thanks to a well-taken James Tavernier spot-kick, sending Rangers into the break with an emphatic 3-0 lead.
It looked as if there could be a sting in the tale in as Jeriel Dorsett snatched a goal on the hour mark for Kilmarnock, just cracking the door open on a possible turnaround.
It was all too-little, too-late from the visitors however, as Rangers hung on collect all three points and Celticâs lead atop the Scottish Premiership to six points, with seven games yet to play.
