Leicester see off Legia to go top

Scorers: Daka 11′, Maddison 21′, Ndidi 33′; Mladenović  27′.

Leicester City will sit top of their group going into the final matchday after easing to a comfortable win over Legia Warsaw.

The Foxes stormed into the lead when the ball ricocheted into the path of Patson Daka after a run from Harvey Barnes before the Zambian international slotted into the bottom corner.

James Maddison doubled their advantage ten minutes later, curling the ball past Cezary Miszta after wriggling to make room inside the box.

The visitors were given a way back into the game when Wilfried Ndidi handled in the box. Kasper Schmeichel savied Mahir Emreli’s penalty before Filip Mladenović turned home the rebound.

However, Ndidi redeemed himself to put the game beyond doubt when he rose highest to head Maddison’s corner into the back of the net.

Brendan Rodgers’ side travel to Napoli for the final game knowing a draw will see them through to the knockout rounds.

Morelos double sends Rangers through

Scorers: Morelos 15′, 49′.

Alfredo Morelos scored twice to seal Rangers’ passage into the knockout rounds.

The Colombian striker put the hosts 1-0 up in the 15th minute when he slid the ball into the bottom corner after being played through on goal by Iani Hagi.

Morelos then took advantage of some poor defending from Filip Panák to complete his brace, cutting out the defender’s pass across goal to head into the back of the net.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side have made it through to the next stage courtesy of that second goal, giving them a better head-to-head record than the Czech side if they were to finish on the same points total.

Celtic blow lead to get knocked out

Scorers: Andrich 16′, 82′, Diaby 86′; Juranović (PEN) 40′, Jota 56′.

Celtic have been knocked out of the Europa League after conceding two goals in the last ten minutes to lose in Leverkusen.

They found themselves 1-0 down after 16 minutes when Florian Wirtz’s corner was headed home by Robert Andrich.

But they were gifted a way back into the game when Lukáš Hrádecký took out Kyogo Furuhashi in the box which led to Josip Juranović equalising from the spot with a calmly-taken paneka penalty.

They found themselves ahead 11 minutes into the second half when Jota fired home after a sweeping team move.

However, the Bundesliga side completed a dramatic turnaround in the last ten minutes.

First, Andrich smashed a shot through the legs of Joe Hart after Nadiem Amiri’s deft touch laid it on a plate for the midfielder to score his second.

Moussa Diaby then volleyed the winner after Wirtz’ picked him out at the edge of the box to end Celtic’s Europa League journey.

Betis ease to win to seal progress

Scorers: Tello 5′, Canales 52′.

Real Betis sealed qualification after a comfortable win over Ferencváros in Seville.

Cristian Tello turned home Héctor Béllerin’s assist after a sublime team move to give the hosts the lead before Sergio Canales produced a stunning strike to put the game beyond doubt after the break with his first goal in three years for the club.

Hammers claim top spot in Vienna

Scorers: Yarmolenko 40′, Noble 45+2.

West Ham produced another impressive performance in Europe to seal top spot in Group H.

Andriy Yarmolenko gave the Hammers the lead in the 40th minute when he nodded in Nikola Vlašić’s cross at the back post.

The Ukranian winger was then fouled in the box which gave Mark Noble to extend the lead from the spot in which he duly obliged to round the game off in first half stoppage time.
