Rabiot Suddenly Becomes an Option for Serie A Giants

Adrien Rabiot has been suddenly put on the market following a dispute with his teammate Jonathan Rowe and has been quickly proposed to Juventus, Milan, and Inter, Foot Mercato reports.

The veteran, who returned to Ligue 1 on a Bosman move after a long spell in Turin, shone last season, tallying 10 goals and 6 assists in 32 matches. He departed on a free because he couldn’t agree to a new contract.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Juventus have gathered intel on the terms to bring back Rabiot. A year ago, Cristiano Giuntoli decided to save on his €7.5M net salary. He eventually accepted €4M per year from Marseille later in the summer. His team demands roughly €15M.

Despite his connection with Massimiliano Allegri, Milan haven’t moved for the 30-year-old at this stage, Calciomercato reports. The Rossoneri have completed several signings after selling Tijjani Reijnders.

Our Take on Rabiot, Juventus, Milan, and Inter

The Old Lady was right in moving on at the time, as he had a disproportionate salary and arguably role within their squad. They might need a midfielder depending on their exits, and he’d be a plug-and-play option if the figures were more reasonable now. There’s a chance since they have a new brass, but they should go younger. Plus, he might not be a great fit for their current scheme and would come in with the expectation of being a linchpin.

The Rossoneri would be all over him if it had happened a month ago, while their cousins have stopped signing veterans, as they instead did frequently in the recent past. He’d be more useful to Roma and Napoli, who need to round out their midfield.
