Adrien Rabiot’s (30) career at Olympique de Marseille has taken a sudden turn. The Frenchman, a key player last season and a starter in the opening day defeat to Stade Rennais, was involved in a post-match bust-up with team-mate Jonathan Rowe.
It was announced that both players would be temporarily suspended and OM have since confirmed that they are looking to sell the player, citing a lack of investment from the France international. It has come as a shock, and it now leaves Rabiot less than two weeks to find a new club. Failure to do so will likely see him sidelined at OM in the first part of the season.
There is no shortage of interest from Italy. His value is still high in Serie A. As previously reported, AC Milan, managed by Max Allegri, with whom he shares a close bond, and former club Juventus, are interested. Their interest is now being rivalled by Inter Milan, according to Foot Mercato.
Marseille have been clear that, despite Rabiot’s current situation, they want €15m for a player, whose contract is up next summer.
