Q: Luke, first game back, it was a really sharp performance from the team. Were you impressed with the level the team got to especially in that first half in the first game of pre-season?
Luke McCowan: “Yeah, I think so. That’s the kind of message before we go out, get into good habits right away. Get into the flow of the game we can bring and go and test the opposition we come up against and I think the boys done that in the first and second half. It was good to see so many younger boys play their part and look a part of the team.
Q: It’s your first pre-season as a Celtic player; how have you found the first week back with the group?
Luke McCowan: “Yes, it’s nice. The double sessions are good. It’s always nice to come in and have that first pre-season but it’s just about kicking on now and working hard and trying to play a part in the squad again.”

Q: What are you personally looking to get out of a pre-season with Celtic? You seen the effect it had on the boys last year, you weren’t a part of that, how would you like to see your game progress with this pre-season?
Luke McCowan: “Yeah, I think it’s about using the pre-season as much as I can before going into the long season ahead, we have. Taking parts of my game that need improving and working on them throughout pre-season and then by the time the games come thick and fast you’re ready and the parts of your game have improved hopefully.’
Q: You spoke about the younger Celts in the squad Luke, do you see yourself as a more senior member of the team? You’d like to be that as well, are there any of them that have been chewing your ear off as well, any questions?
Luke McCowan: “No, I think I’m more chewing their ear off. I don’t think I’ve stopped talking to every single one of them. When you come in and it’s all the younger ones you’ve got to lend a hand to them and give them coaching points or help you can. Everybody does it with everybody so it’s a nice part to be a team like that.”
Q: Looking ahead now Luke it’s the tip to Cork next week, how much are you looking forward to seeing those Irish Celtic fans? As a Celtic fan yourself it must be great to go over there and see them?
Luke McCowan: “Yeah, it was amazing the last time, obviously we were in Sligo, and it was brilliant. So, it will be even better going to Cork and having some time there.”
