Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas believes that Liverpool will lose against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium on Thursday night.
The Reds enter the clash with a 13-point lead at the top of the Premier League table with two games in hand.
If Jurgen Klopp’s side were to lose to Wolves on Thursday night, it would be Liverpool’s first loss of the Premier League season.
Nicholas believes that Liverpool were looking tired towards the end of their 2-0 Premier League victory against Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday. He feels this could be a factor come Thursday night, meaning Wolves will claim a 2-1 victory.
“This is a cracking game and Liverpool will be on such a high,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.
“I genuinely thought Liverpool looked tired and leggy, especially at the end, against Manchester United. Have they enough to come in and cover this one up?”
He added: “Wolves relish the games against the top-six sides. Wolves looked assured at Anfield but got nothing from it. Klopp may make some changes and it could disrupt them a little bit.”
Wolves are a top side, especially at home. They currently sit sixth in the Premier League, meaning this will be a tough game.
However, Liverpool have shown they have the mental capacity to deal with anything. Klopp’s side will be confident of claiming the three points, regardless of the external noise. Liverpool claimed a 2-0 victory in the corresponding fixture last season.
