Paul Robinson believes there shouldn't be questions over Daniel Farke's Leeds United future, regardless of whether the Whites are promoted at the end of the season or not.

The West Yorkshire side are set to find out whether they will be in the play-off final or not, with their semi-final second-leg clash against Norwich City coming up tonight.

Drawing 0-0 at Carrow Road in the first leg on Saturday, the Whites are arguably the favourites to secure a place in the final, but they have recently lost home games against Blackburn Rovers and Southampton at Elland Road.

This isn't ideal for Leeds, but those two games are the only league matches they have lost at home during the 2023/24 campaign.

Performing extremely well at Elland Road for much of the season, they will be looking to get back to winning ways tonight and if they secure a win, they will face the Saints or West Bromwich Albion at Wembley.

However, Leeds can count themselves unlucky that they didn't secure a top-two place, having registered 90 points.

They don't have time to dwell on this though, with Farke's side needing to win the play-offs if they are to secure a Premier League return at the first time of asking.

Paul Robinson speaks out on Daniel Farke's Leeds United future

Robinson believes Farke has already done enough this season to take the Whites into next season, regardless of what happens in the play-offs.

He told MOT Leeds News: "He’s proven enough this season that he’s the man who would potentially take Leeds back up to the Premier League. We’re all hoping he manages to do that.

"In the worst-case scenario, he’s shown enough this season. He needs credit for the pre-season too.

"There were players like Wilfried Gnonto who didn’t want to be at the club and refused to play and train. He’s turned him back around and put his form back to where you would expect it to be at this stage in the season, back to the player he was last season. His man-management has a lot to do with that.

"There were lots of signings. Gruev came in, Joe Rodon, and Ampadu in, and Connor Roberts was a great signing in January.

"The manager knows the league and how to get out of it. If they don’t get out this season, they’ve come very close. I don’t see why there would be any call for a change."

Daniel Farke can count himself unlucky at Leeds United

Farke has done a lot of good things at Leeds.

With the takeover and transfer speculation dominating the headlines for much of the summer, it's no surprise that the Whites made a slow start to the season.

But for much of 2024 so far, they have been brilliant and it's a massive shame for them that they were unable to make the most of some winnable home games during the latter stages of the campaign.

Farke has not only helped to ensure young players have thrived, including Archie Gray and Crysencio Summerville, but he has also guided the Whites to a 90-point finish.

If they don't win promotion, the German manager should be given another season to get Leeds up.
