PSV tracking French MLS defender in case first choice signing falls through

According to Voetbal International, Adilson Malanda is in the transfer picture at PSV. The 23-year-old Frenchman is currently under contract with Major League Soccer’s Charlotte FC. Malanda only seems a serious option if the arrival of Nobel Mendy falls through, which is not expected.

Malanda’s contract with Charlotte FC expires at the end of 2026. In the current MLS season, the defender has made 17 appearances for the North Carolina club.

The centre-back made his professional debut at Nîmes, before leaving for Rodez in 2021. Then, in 2022, he moved to Charlotte FC.

As previously reported, PSV are actively looking for defensive reinforcements, partly to compensate for the free departure of Olivier Boscagli. The focus is mainly on Mendy from Real Betis. The arrival of Malanda is a lot less concrete.
