PSV agree on new contract for captain Schouten

PSV are set to extend Jerdy Schouten’s contract, with the club and player having agreed on a new deal.

Schouten’s current contract with PSV runs until the summer of 2028, but the club has been wanting to extend it for several years. This demonstrates PSV’s confidence in Schouten, who was recently appointed captain by manager Peter Bosz. Schouten’s extension is still pending some formalities.

Schouten is entering his third season at PSV. The midfielder joined PSV in the summer of 2023 for around 12 million euros from Bologna, who had previously acquired him from Excelsior in 2018.

Schouten has made 71 appearances for PSV so far, 30 of which came last season. He is also now a regular Dutch national team player.
