Luís Enrique, currently the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, has left the door open for a return to the Spanish national team.

The Spaniard managed La Roja between 2018 and 2022, bar a brief leave of absence back in 2019. He left the Spanish national team in the wake of the nation’s exit from the Qatar World Cup, before taking up the job at PSG.

During that World Cup, Luís Enrique was praised for his transparency during a series of Twitch streams, where he answered questions posed by viewers. On Thursday, he did his first Twitch stream since becoming PSG manager and opened up on a wide range of topics.

Questioned on a potential return to La Roja, Luís Enrique left the door open. “Yes, I’d like to manage the national team again one day, of course. I learnt a lot with people who gave me their full trust. You’re lucky to represent your country. It can’t be refused,” he said.

However, he doesn’t look like becoming Spain manager any time soon. Luís Enrique added that he is not one to break contracts and if he is to leave PSG, it won’t be him that instigates it. The Spaniard’s current contract runs until 2025, whilst reports in France suggest that Les Parisiens, who are happy with the job that Luís Enrique is doing, are wanting to further extend that deal.
