RMC Sport report this afternoon that Newcastle United made efforts this month to sign Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas, but the Ligue 1 club have turned down their approaches.

The Costa Rican – who today tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of the league fixture against Brest tonight – seems to be firmly part of PSG’s plans, as they look to end the season with both him and Gianluigi Donnarumma as goalkeeping options.

The Newcastle management are said to have called the Parisians last week, with the latter party dismissing the feasability of a transfer. Keylor Navas has played 17 games since the start of the season, compared to Donnarumma’s 12, although the Italian arrived late following a successful Euro 2020 campaign.
