With the FIFA Club World Cup over, PSG have a decision to make whether or not to pay Gianluigi Donnarumma what he feels he’s worth. If the Parisians want to stick to what they’re offering, then the club must sell to avoid letting him leave as a free agent next year.
Donnarumma is under contract until 2026, but past mistakes casted doubt on his future. Still, he delivered standout performances last season—especially in Champions League matches against Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal—that helped PSG finally win the trophy they had long been chasing.
Amid the uncertainty regarding his future, a recent report from ESPN FC revealed that Donnarumma wants to remain at PSG, even with interest from Manchester United and Inter Milan.

With no contract extension agreement between the two sides, “After Foot RMC’s” Kevin Diaz mentions the possibility of going after a new goalkeeper who better fits Luis Enrique’s style of play. And for that, it will take a big check.
“Should PSG give in to Donnarumma’s demands? The goalkeeper position is one of the areas for improvement if Paris Saint-Germain wants to take the next step,” Diaz said (h/t Le10Sport). “He’s an excellent shot-stopper — no question. A top-three talent, and he was outstanding this season.”
“However, if PSG wants a goalkeeper who is better at distribution and decision-making — someone who can help play out from the back more effectively — because PSG’s opponents have figured out you can put them under pressure by using their own weapons against them, then they need a top-level goalkeeper with strong footwork. That’s something Donnarumma doesn’t have. If Donnarumma is hesitant, they should take a big check and go find a replacement — why not?”
