According to a report by L’Équipe, Paris Saint-Germain could reignite their interest in Victor Osimhen (25) with the Nigerian international expected to leave Napoli this summer.

PSG had previously been linked with the striker in 2023 when they had tried to persuade Napoli to part ways their star. However, Les Parisiens eventually gave up on their pursuit after two bids over €100 million were rejected by the then Serie A champions.

Napoli at the time were coming off the back of their first Scudetto since the 1989/90 season and wanted to carry on their momentum in the season that just finished. However, after a disappointing campaign defending their title, Osimhen has been placed on the market.

PSG unwilling to meet Victor Osimhen’s release clause

The Italian side had expected that interest from English clubs (such as Manchester United and Chelsea) would materialise into bids. However, this has yet to occur, meaning PSG could relaunch negotiations for the striker.

L’Équipe writes that PSG will not activate Osimhen’s release clause of €130 million with the French champions believing it to be excessive, they will instead try and convince Napoli to lower their price (a task that they have yet to succeed at with either Osimhen or Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (23)).
