Hakim Ziyech’s move from Chelsea to PSG will not go through after an appeal was denied by France’s football governing body, the LFP.

The appeal was discussed by a commission on Wednesday morning they have decided not to allow the move to go through, according to RMC and Téléfoot.

The move was one of the big stories of transfer deadline day, but as the clock ticked towards midnight, there was still no confirmation that the rumoured transfer had gone through.

That was, according to the Athletic, because Chelsea had three times sent over the wrong documentation which meant that the deal could not be done in time.

Reports in L’Équipe suggested that there had coincidentally been a computer error inside the LFP, which paved the way for PSG to lodge an appeal.

Yet that appeal has been denied, as the paperwork was still incorrect and not submitted before time ran out. Per L’Équipe, Chelsea twice sent paperwork over that was missing a signature.

The 29-year-old had fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the January arrivals of Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke and Joāo Félix.

Ziyech has made only 10 Premier League appearances, and just four starts, so far this season but starred at the World Cup as Morocco embarked on a shock run to the semi-finals.
