Paris Saint-Germain are considering Roma manager Jose Mourinho as a replacement for Christophe Galtier, according to RMC Sport.
Galtier has been heavily tipped to leave Parc des Princes after one season due to the failure in the Champions League, where PSG were knocked out in the last-16 against Bayern Munich.
The Frenchman’s tactical prowess has also been called into question due to PSG’s highly inconsistent form after the World Cup.
The recent racism accusations against Galtier have added more uncertainty over his future.
PSG football advisor Luis Campos has handpicked Mourinho as an ideal candidate for the managerial role, having worked with his compatriot a decade ago at Real Madrid.
After some underwhelming years at Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, Mourinho has revived himself in Serie A, turning Roma into one of the most exciting sides in Europe.
The Portuguese gaffer led the Giallorossi to the Conference League title last year and is on course to secure a top-four finish in Serie A this season, with Roma sitting third in the table.
However, their Europa League hopes are hanging in the balance following the 1-0 defeat against Feyenoord in the quarter-finals last week. Roma will be looking for a turnaround in the second leg on Thursday.
Although the former Chelsea manager seems to be enjoying his time in the Italian capital, his future is far from resolved.
He reportedly wants more financial backing from the Giallorossi owners this summer to compete on all fronts, or he could consider an exit.
PSG want a manager with a Champions League pedigree, and Mourinho perfectly fits the bill.
The former Madrid boss would have more financial leeway at PSG and could work with Campos in tandem to sort out the desired transfer targets.
Roma will be keen to hold onto Mourinho, who is willing to move to the French capital.
