An insight into the expectations of Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, when it comes to financial compensation for the departure of talisman Kylian Mbappé, has today been forthcoming online.

The info comes courtesy of Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, and points towards the brass at the Parc des Princes viewing the imminent exit of their star frontman as far from a run-of-the-mill ‘free transfer’.

It is of course common knowledge that Mbappé is all set to bring an end to his stint on the books of PSG this summer.

As much comes with the France international having informed his long-time employers of his decision not to extend his terms with the club, due to expire this coming June.

Mbappé, in turn, has since been locked in negotiations with La Liga leaders Real Madrid, over the terms of a pre-contract set to kick into gear for the 2024/25 campaign.

The move, upon coming to its expected fruition, will technically be a free transfer, in that Real will not be required to fork over a fee to PSG.

However, as alluded to above, this does not mean that the French outfit do not expect to be aptly compensated.

As per the aforementioned report from The Athletic, Mbappé himself will be responsible for assuring that his soon-to-be former employers are not left with nothing to show for their most important player.

This means that, on top of forfeiting an €80 million loyalty bonus, the 25-year-old will also be asked to share with PSG a significant chunk of his signing bonus with his next club – expected to be Real Madrid.

With this sum expected to be worth in excess of €100 million, Nasser Al-Khelaifi and co, as a result, are in line for a not-insignificant pay day come the season’s close.
