With just over one year remaining on his contract at Bayern Munich, Joshua Kimmich’s (29) future remains uncertain. Paris Saint-Germain could reignite their interest in the summer, according to Le Parisien.
PSG showed an interest in the German international in January but ultimately did not make a move to secure his services. However, it is still an option that remains on the table. Kimmich is yet to make a decision on his future at Bayern Munich, where the sporting project has shifted erratically in recent years with multiple managerial changes, as well as changes in the club’s hierarchy.
Within this context, the German could seek a new challenge and with just one year remaining on his deal come the end of the season, he represents an interesting opportunity on the market. PSG will be in the market for a defensive midfielder and have identified Kimich as a target, however, Les Parisiens may face Premier League competition, according to Le Parisien.
Kimmich is an alternative to Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimarães (26). The Brazilian is appreciated by Luís Campos, however, he represents an expensive option. The Portuguese sporting consultant reached out to Guimarães’ representatives in January but no concrete approach was made due to the considerable asking price.
Kylian Mbappé’s (25) departure in the summer will give PSG significant financial leeway. A move for Kimmich, or for Guimarães cannot be ruled out later this year.
