Paris Saint Germain sporting director Leonardo has reportedly made contact with super agent Mino Raiola about Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
Pogba is inside the final 18 months of his United contract and despite claims of talks over a new deal, the Frenchman's status hasn't changed.
Fussball Transfers says Leonardo has contacted Raiola to conduct initial exploratory talks. Pogba himself is open to a move to the French capital. The midfielder has struggled with injury this season and missed Sunday's victory over West Ham United.
In December, Raiola said: "He has a contract that will expire in the summer of 2022, but I think the best solution for both parties is to sell him in the next transfer window. Otherwise United would risk Pogba going free as he has no intention of renewing the contract at the moment."
Leonardo has now made his move, though there remains a lot of work to do in order to bring Pogba back to his homeland. Before Pogba can join the Parisians, Paris Saint Germain's sporting director must first create space in the squad. Possible candidates to leave include former Premier League midfielder pair Ander Herrera (31) and Idrissa Gueye (31).
So far this season, Pogba has managed 28 appearances for Manchester United, scoring four goals and creating three assists.
