Paris Saint-Germain are headed to the UEFA Champions League final after a 2-1 win over Arsenal on Wednesday night at Parc des Princes, sealing a 3-1 victory on aggregate. After the match, Declan Rice shared his thoughts on Arsenal running out of gas trying to plug holes due to injuries.
Needing goals to stay alive in the tie, Arsenal instead found themselves chasing the game again when Fabián Ruiz calmly slotted home in the 27th minute to give PSG the lead.
The hosts carried that advantage into halftime and nearly doubled it when a handball led to a penalty, but David Raya denied Vitinha to keep Arsenal’s hopes alive.
Still, PSG kept pushing. Achraf Hakimi fired in a second to ignite the home crowd. Bukayo Saka responded with a goal to briefly revive Arsenal, but it wasn’t enough to stop the French champions from booking their place in the final.

Rice spoke to TNT Sports and the outlet asked about the injuries Arsenal are dealing with and whether the squad simply couldn’t overcome them against a top opponent like PSG.
“It’s tough,” Rice said (h/t BBC). “We’ve done the whole season without five or six of our best players so to do what we’ve done is unbelievable. We’ve given it everything, the whole squad, everyone flying with us and everyone believed. You could see that we believed it.
“On another night we maybe score two or three, that first 20 minutes where they score and we don’t take our chances is a kick in the teeth. We’ll be back, three games left, it’s been a long season but we keep pushing because we want to win and do the best we can.”
